Compressor/Venturi for Medical Application

03/08/2008 11:15 PM

We are in the process of designing a light weight, portable, low powered ventilator used mainly in Intra hospital and Pre-Medical Treatment. We are looking for for a compressor . is there anyone who is designing such compressor.

The another option is Venturi Mechanism, which can blend some amount of additional oxygen and serve the purpose of forced air for the patient. Apparently this is not available as an off te shelf manufactured product.

Can anyone throw some light on either of these two issues ?

I think this must be the third or fourth thread asking exactly the same question....

If you're designing this ventilator why not read the answers already given and design it???

Don't just keep repeating the same question over and over again!!

John.

Why don't you start with a regenerative blower. Replace the motor with a 28volt dc motor from a Milwaukee cordless tool. You can then use readily available 28 volt lithium ion batteries. For the venturi function, choke the air inlet enough to create the desired vacuum.
