Six Sigma at many organizations simply means a measure of quality that strives for near perfection. Six Sigma is a disciplined, data-driven approach and methodology for eliminating defects (driving towards six standard deviations between the mean and the nearest specification limit) in any process -- from manufacturing to transactional and from product to service.

I know I really should read up on this, but whenever I see wall charts and highlighter pens I tend to freak. That probably explains why I'm more at home in a hard-hat. The necassary evil of desk work follows Parkinsons Law - it expands to take up all space it can find. 'Cut bait or fish' can only work so far. Thanks for the links and info, I'll take my cynical hat off some time and read.
