Racing with Moog

06/09/2006 10:26 AM

In racing, light weight and tight control are critical to winning. Moog engineers apply these goals in developing products for motorsports. For example, the E024 servovalve weighs in at a puny 92 grams, yet handles hydraulic systems with power levels as high as 3.5KW. That is why the tiny valve is a favorite for Formula 1 cars.

The other Moog

The name Moog brought to mind Walter/Wendy Carlos - the music for A Clockwork Orange rang bells. To save time for anyone else who may have been thinking along similar lines, go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Moog or put 'carlos moog kubrick' into a search engine.
