Wind Turbines and Sails

03/24/2008 3:35 AM

.

Please, can someone tell me how to calculate the output of a horizontal wind turbine with a given diameter and given wind speed at sea level, and how to compare it to the output of a sail with an area is the same of as a disk drawn by the blades of the turbine at the same wind velocity?

Search the web for wind power sites there is a vast amount of info out there.
Here is one site which links to loads of others, it should get you started.

Do you have to mock everything?

Here I am, minding my own business with a nice beer in hand and there you go again, taking the proverbial piss out of me. Why I ask you?

Besides your spelling suggests to me you are having a few barley and hop waters your self, haven't you?

And good on you too but stop this nonsense and sober up will you, we need to know why he has such message under his post. Is it a computer generated post to expose weakness in CR4 servers or something? You would never type that under your post so it has to be an automated message right?

'You would never type that under your post ....'

The point I was making is that self evidently I would... you will notice that the message is in the same font...that's what made me suspicious that it was a joke...so I accentuated this with my own (entirely genuine <gough splutter>) message.

Am I really sent to bed with no supper?

No need to shoot them, the wind turbine rotors chops them up for you. Hmm, lovely tenderised meat.
