G functions are the foundation of any CNC/NC machine. Any purchased machine will come with it an operating/instruction manual.

I beg to differ, and NEW machine comes with Documentation.

2nd hand machines are possibly lost.

Excellon Mk 6's are quite old I'm currently trying to find the documentation I have here on the command set, I think its kept with the 56' paper tape rolls.. the original we had here ran 4k of Core Memory, and had the RS-232 upgrade for drill file uploading.

Hows this..

TMS group diameter declaration

DIAM,diam,#,#,#...

This command is used to declare the diameters of the given groups. The first parameter if the tool diameter, all other parameters beginning with the second are group numbers to be set to the specified diameter. The DIAM command is only useful in TMS Mode 2, and is typically included in an M48 header to define the layout of the cassette. This gives the part program (via the header) complete control over which tool sizes are loaded into which groups, which can vary greatly from job to job (number of tools of a particular size required). Please note that in TMS mode 2, tool groups of the same tool size are automatically "linked" such that one expired tool group will cause the next tool of the same size to be picked up in the next group of the same tool size. See also: TMS, MODE

Keyboard command: DIAM,diam,#,#,#...

TMS alignment functions

The TMS alignment functions are provided to assist in the alignment and verification of the TMS system. This button displays the TMS alignment menu. The menu contains several procedures which may be performed by pressing the corresponding buttons.
The correct sequence of operations when executing TMS alignment should start with the button from the top left corner of the screen and perform the functions towards the right on the first line of buttons. Then Align Cassette Right-Front, followed by the Save button to store the new parameters in the Machine file. After this, use the buttons Check Cassette Alignment to verify the overall alignment of the system.
Before any alignment or when a problem is suspected from the associated hardware, the Sensors Status button may be used to display and exercise the involved sensors and mechanisms.
For machines equipped with two stationary cassettes, there is a button which can be used to select whether the alignment functions impact the first or second magazine location.

The remaining buttons on the screen provide support to all alignment functions and are self explanatory.

Yes, I like to add if the country of origin (CoO) is different from the end users country and the document is translated from CoO to your native language, the translation is so poor that it isn't worth squat.

Best example is "Cinglish" where Chinese try to write instruction manuals in English :D

CNC machine comes with canned cycles, such as a drill pack routine. But usually you have to pay extra to initialize them (turn them on). As mentioned early, g-code is not al standardized. to address or initialize a tool it could be called out as "T" code such as T1, T2, T3 ect..., or, an "M" code such as M11, M12, M13 ect.... while M30 stop it.

And this can happen when the same controller manufacturer. I do not have enough information to help, Do you have a sample program that works that I can look at?
