Hello Guest,

You don't advise your Operating System, so I am assuming it is MS WindowsXP.

If you don't have a non-system disk (floppy/CD/DVD) inserted in a Drive, then you probably have a corrupted registry or a damaged boot record in the Hard Drive of your computer.

Advise Make, Model and Operating System of your laptop, it should be easier to assist you.

Please reply

Kind Regards....

This may happen if the harddisk is not sensing during the system post.,

restart the laptop and interupt in the boot process by pressing DEL or F10 and enter in to bios check for the harddisk is sensed in the bios, If so the harddisk is sensed in the bios then it may be a problem of the hdd.

aAlso try by changing the bios to default setting and save and try the stuff..

It is possible to solve the problem by changing the boot-up order. When you just start the computer, press DEL and, when entering the BIOS settings, look for booting order. It could be: floppy(a:), hard drive (c:), or CD. Change to have HD first, save and restart. The search of a booting sequence will start on HD. If you get the same message that's not very good news, your boot record could be corrupted. If you have a rescue disk, use it (remember the boot order if it a floppy or a CD).
