GAS FLOW THROUGH PIPES

04/02/2008 1:08 AM

How to calculate flow of any gas through pipes of different diameters and different lengths at different pressures, density of gas and ambient temperature being given?

Foxboro's "Principles and practice of flow meter engineering" by L.K. Spink 9th edition, is the best I've come accross. http://worldcat.org/wcpa/ow/b537faf80481cd7b.html

I made a deal with a manager 30 years ago for mine. He wanted a program to calculate orifice diameter, and I wanted that book.

But stay tuned to this forum/thread; I'm an "old fart", and I am sure there have been some improvements in the last 30 years!

No... I'm pretty sure gas still obeys the same old laws

"No... I'm pretty sure gas still obeys the same old laws".

Yeah, but 30 years ago I didn't have to worry whether I "had it in the wrong gear", when the gas pressure built up!
