Can anyone give me ideas for removing a light adhesive film from the back of an LCD?

A little bit of rubbing alcohol is generally pretty safe and effective. If the adhesive is stubborn, try some WD40 or other penetrating oil. Assuming, of course, the surface the film is attached to will tolerate either alcohol or oil for a short time.

If that doesn't work, try using zippo lighter fluid!

Hey!!! don't forget LCDs work only by having a polarizing filter before and after the LCD.

Using any form of solvent will destroy the polarized film and make the LCD useless!!!

OP, don't try removing any film on the LCD at all, and if you do make sure it is supposed to be removed and then use only water and very gentle rubbing etc...

I hope he's not cleaning his new flat screen TV!!!

John.

My next idea was a metal scouring pad so lucky you got there first!
