Simple DP transmitter with level compensation for density is best and works really fine for 3E control.

we are already using this.but considering MTTR and MTBF it is not good.we have to use such insrument which reduces Pfd of the loop.

Dear 22046,

Noted your details. We have been using the said details, since last 30 years, with no problem.

Well you are suggested to use 4 DP transmitters, with one for control and other three for genertaing the 2oo3 trip interlock for the steam drum level. This will help in improving the MTBF, MTTR.

Hope this will help you.

Guided Wave Radar with steam compensation is a reliable and proven level measurement device used in many power generation plants in the United States and around the world.

The good ol' gauge glass is reliable, provided it is operated properly and the isolating and drain cocks are maintained in full working order and any sludge blown out at regular intervals, depending on the quality of the steam.

Another way might be to use the flop-over-magnetic-follower type of level instrument. These can be fitted with a clip-on analogue signal transmitter.

Who is the maker of Guide Wave Radar with steam compensation? Rosemount Guide Wave Radar has no steam compensation function. Please advise the manufacture.
