Thimbles and lugs for cables

04/11/2008 4:17 AM

It is written in the electrical standard that "Thimbles, when specified instead of lugs, shall be supplied undrilled and the assembly shall be approved by the purchaser".

So, what is the basic difference between a thimble and a lug? Where can I see images of both types to compare?
