Insulator Classification

04/11/2008 5:36 AM

I need the procedure for selection of insulators for 11 kV, 33 kV, 132 kV, 220kV and 400kV. How we can ensure suitability of following insulators for above voltage class-

(a) Ceramic disc insulators

(b) glass insulators

(c) long rod insulators

(d) polymer insulators

Use the network operator's Standards to determine this matter.

Ceramic insulator is best bet. But you can have different shape based on resistor ink. The resistance value is in the wide range of applications methods. You can make resistor ink and based on need you can make your self or buy from resistor manufacturers in dise, rod and pad type based on availability real state on board.
