Natural gas boilers with recondensors on the steam. The system can be as high as 90% thermo efficiency. This is how they do it at the salt manufacturing plants in KS, USA.

Hi,

A.: a big shallow pool, black bottom, dry warm climate, pretty windy weather conditions, this will evaporate 1 to 10 " a day. See the remaining marine salt recovering sites from seawater, except the black bottom this is done this way but for sake of purity and speed there are many pools connected for different grades of concentration. The bottom of the pools are covered after a short time of operation with salts of lower solubility.(gypsum).

B. Put in a big container that can be slightly evacuated to lower boiling temperature.
Heat from the outside with solar concentrators. Compress the steam and let condense and feed back by heat exchanger the heat of condensation to the boiler. Use the highly purified water from the condenser but don't forget to add some minerals if used for biological use, else toxic. Get out the wet but yet crystallised NaCl batch-wise and let it dry on plane thin plates with dry warm air.

C. Why do you want to do this? To buy is much cheaper.

Your Message: Help

Hi!

Thanks for your comments. In fact I need to manufacture BP/USP grade Sodium Chloride Crystals out of finally purified 20-25% brine solution(origin rock salt). Therefore I need help regarding the best and most economical but fast method of drying.Ultimately it has to be Pyrogen-free and packed in a close envirinment..I need about more or less one ton per hour of BP grade NaCl production.

Can anybody help.

Hi,

if this is used for biological or medical purpose then I would recommend a license from a certified producer, that has to have a certificate of CGMP (current good manufacturing practice).

You should call Swenson Technology in Monee, Illinois and ask for Rob Turner. He has built salt crystallizers all over the world. This is small project but he might be able to help.
