	I would like to know if anyone have the latest common standard for the electrical code ? i know there are a lot of standards/codes. probably if anyone could let me know of a common one, say BSxxxx or maybe IECxxxx ? if you have the pdf links, it will be great then. thx.

	I hope IEC61010 will the one you are looking for. This is common one, from which every country is making their own harmonized standard. UL/ CSA has also adopted same one. Unfortunately, you need to purchase it. It is not free anywhere. Look for IEC site.

	In the USA, the National Fire Protection Association publishes NFPA Standard 70, the NEC (National Electric Code) and updates it every 3 years. Since the NFPA only publishes recommendations, local authorities do have the ability to modify sections or use their own standards, but most do follow the NEC. There are several sources that sell the book. I have not seen any pdf versions available for free. I would also bew curious to see if there is a single BS or IEC standard that is equivalent to the NEC. Aside from the cost of the document, it seems to adequately address a wide area of issues regarding residential and commercial electrical systems, applications, wiring and installation. __________________ Eventually, one needs to realize that it is far less important to be the smartest person in the room than it is to sit next to that person and make friends.

	The best part is i happen to download the latest NEC 2008 Edition NFPA 70 standard (hmmm...from somewhere, i am not telling). So if anyone could give me more informations particularly on the BS standard. The practise in my place here is base on BS though. Still if anyone wants the PDf for NEC2008 pls e-mail me instead. p/s i am not spreading any illegal stuffs here...
