Nearest you can get is to upload the file "somewhere" (a public file sharing site or whatever), and put a link to it in your post. Have a look at this thread, which may give you some ideas of places you can upload to.

If your File is a photo, you can attach it by clicking on the little green camera icon to the left of the bullet list buttons when you type in the 'Your message:' area.

In the past, I've added several New Scientist articles to CR4 by just copying and pasting. This seems to work really well. However, CR4 seems to know the wisdom of not allowing .exe files or sound files or video files.

You mentiona little green camera icon on a bullet list. I
receive the forum as the dr4 Digest. Where do I find the bullet
list you refer to? Am I on a different page?

The object is cylindrical in shape, with a slot along one side, and the ends partially closed off. The material is a plastic that is slightly flexible. It is used in conjunction with common items. The color is a clue, and is the last clue I will give.

... but be aware that copy & paste doesn't always work. I don't know which systems/browsers it fails on, but sometimes the result many of us see is that shown left (which I screen-grabbed from another thread, saved as a jpg, & inserted with ).
I believe some systems render an "unviewable image" as a blue pane.
