I am curious if anyone has good links to good generic installation details/ hook-up dwgs. Preferably in the autocad format. Also, has anyone had any luck getting AutoCad blocks from Instrumentation vendors (E+H, Rosemount, etc).

I don't know what you mean by this but, if you mean, has anyone drawn a specific circuit for what you want then the answer is 'almost certainly'. The big question is, what circuit and, if drawn, are they prepaired to share it!
If you want good blocks for inserting into an AutoCAD drawing, you could try 'Web2Cad'. I find them very good.
Try to remember that you should only insert a block (off the web) into the 0 layer. This reduces extra layer details that you don't want from the construction of the original drawing (amongst other things)!
Good luck with it!

I too have been looking for generic hook up drawings. I had a set when I was working as an Instrument construction project manager. They were a set of drawings that shows the installation configuration for each installation of instrument transmitters and other devices. An example would be, one for steam flow transmitter with condensate pots, on an orfice flange mounted below the taps, one mounted above the taps with no pots, one with filled legs, top of flange mount, direct mount ---- etc. these drawings included all of the fittings, mounts, valves, tubing, conduit connections and wiring terminals, they were very detailed. I suppose my book contained maybe 150 individual drawings, and divided into sections for flow, pressure, level, control valves, etc.. If anyone finds a link please share.

Most vendor websites have a vast selection of AutoCAD drawings of their products and associated connection diagrams available as a free download.
Choose the vendor, join their WEB association (if necessary), and reap the benefits.
If you cannot find what you need, contact the vendor as there is generally a good deal of information available on an individual basis that is not "posted" on their website.
