Siemens s7-300 can be directly programmed through its fbd diagram software STEP-7 for TCP/IP directly. TCP/IP --- is universal protocol to communicate with any device in inet. Here is some indirect way also, through SCADA OPC-server. I know how to organize communications from ICP_DAS(ADAM) controller to Siemens.

Unfortunately I have not any experience to deal with Alen Bradley, but I am supposing it is possible make them connected. Maybe someone here to suggest you optimal way.

Read datasheets and study an example programs throughly which you can find on CD or vendor site.

Good luck.

ryanbestgarcia, the simple answer is Yes. In fact you can communicate with most (not all) PLC types over industrial ethernet - there are third party manufactures that produce cards to allow TCP/IP communication.

Siemens & AB (some models) have built in ethernet ports on the PLC's, others require additional cards - it depends on the model of the PLC.

Hope this helps

Allen Bradley (Rockwell International) is dedicated to "open-architecture" and they provide communication interface devices for linking with pretty much any computer and/or PLC-based device that is currently manufactured.

Simply contact one of their representatives and they will provide accurate information along with technical support for your application.
