Ok I'll bite , if the process you are working on is validated I would say yes. I would have a outside calibration group test the pump, and give you certified output. Then place the pump on a calibration/verification program. If this is for lab or pilot plant use I would say for sure yes. If it is for getting lube out of a drum I say no and use it till it breaks!

We deal in similar pumps sold by Fluke n feel Pump does not need calibration till it is being used only to generate pressure & there is another device attached to it which is actually reading the generated pressure & this reader definitely needs calibration

enerpac hand pumps that I have used are generally used for hydraulic appliances like rams, clamps, cutters and the like.

The guage is there so you have some indication of the forces your applying to the load, the loads would have a rating of how much they can be operated at, say 900PSI or whatever.

if the clamp or device goes over that on the meter then you have the ability of either damaging the material its working on, damagine the mechanical operation or blowing the seals or hoses (blowing a high pressure hose as your hand pumping could be extreamly dangerous)

It would come down to the application and where your using the device, in the work place, contact the OH&S department of the locality where you are, if your doing it from home privately and someone is injured, then you'll possibly get a call and fine from OH&S as well.
