DC load to be multiplied by 4 or 2?

generator to be selected for maximum load or the practical 60% load?

Total KW to be the load selection criteria?

DG set selection is based on

1) Load to be connected

2) Types of load

3) Method of starting of drives

4) Sequence of starting

May be we can help you in selection, provided you furnish all the particulars mentioned above.

Total DC load is 225.15KW

Total AC load is 722.7Kw

Total Heater load is 314.09Kw (single phase)

DOL starters only for motors of utilities below 5HP

AC variable frequency drives for plant drives irrespective of HP

No Sudden ramping up/down for any drives other than Utilities

Plants start up gradual and no sudden loads.

1) How are you converting AC supply to DC supply-Method ?

2) Can you not distribute the single phase Heater load equally to all the three phase ?

3) The loads should be distributed to all the phases. You can not have 50 % of the load as single phase.

the drives are SCR controlled supplied by ABB and Siemens.

The heater loads are distributed on to three phases, but when the Die heads are changed there may be minor imbalances
