Ditch IE7 & use one of the free alteratives like Firefox, Opera, Safari.

There are links to several browsers here or you can find Safari here. (Took about half a second to find in Google).

Firefox is very good...I've been using it for years. The only reason I've touched IE is for some screwy security on a government website where it is required to have activeX stuff installing...

I have Firefox. Your vandals that like to send out Trojans and the companies that like to infest your computers with spyware like to target the Explorer as the vehicle to bring in those little programs with so these other browser programs are decent alternates to reduce the risk. They don't eliminate it all together but you have less risk then with IE.

Since this is a campaign year I like to use that line when I'm in agreement with others.

its probably shutting down cause there is a problem with it, i would suggest fixing it so it doesnt crash any more.

But seriously i had that problem as well and ditched ie for avant browser, its fast and reliable with regular updates and improvments. Dont get firefox its not all its cracked up to be and is used by people who think they are a bit rebelious by sticking it to Bill

????

Safari hasn't been available on a pc for very long...

Opera is pretty quick (and available in a mobile form for smartphones) but last time I tried it there were still some compatibility issues with some fairly common websites.

'avant' I've never even heard of so it must be 'all it's cracked up to be"...

"sticking it to Bill"...it's supply and demand market for free stuff ...if he can't supply what we demand can't exactly complain about not getting what we paid for (since it's free) so we move on to something else. I like to support open source stuff because I've come to hate proprietary DRM crap that gets in the way of doing something simple. You don't have to be a bit rebelious...I've been using linux full time for about 2 years now since, as the IT guy, I got fed up with MS telling me that I had to buy a 2nd copy of XP pro since their 'partners' couldn't provide an install cd that would work with the code on the side of the box...never felt so liberated! So, yes, you can call me a bit rebelious!

Then why are the crashes reported here always IE and never Mozilla (Firefox, Seamonkey).

If you love Gates so much why don't you go kiss his ass? Better yet, buy more of his stuff. He would appreciate that moreso.

If you want to stick with IE, just try reinstalling it.

Before you do that, uninstall the current version: go to Add Remove Programs from the Control Panel, find Internet Explorer and click the Remove button.

Grab the new version from Microsoft's download site, and it should guide you through the installation.

There is no point in installing it. IE7 has more bugs in it than Gorgonzola. Un-install IE7, if you can, if you can't, write me back. I use IE6 for governmental security and Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.14 for everything else. Just click the link below for the free web browser - Mozilla Firefox:

I downloaded Mozilla Firefox, then searched for the home pages of Netscape, Yahoo and IE and bookmarked them. Click on the bookmark and I'm there and can use any of them and even have them all running minimized at once. Firefox is even faster than going direct.

Firefox is faster than IE. I am not rebellious by nature, but I appreciate something that works. Firefox works. Even under Windows. Well, legit Windows. I don't know about Vista...

I had the same problem with IE and it still happens even after redownloading and especially after new windows updates, so I've been using Firefox for years and only have IE as a backup for when firefox plays up. Incidentally I've been having a repeated problem with that yahoo mail advert for a lottery, it even keeps turning over long after I've tried to go out of yahoo and tried to close the browser.
