On-line encyclopaediae are a good place to start. Go from here: R12. Be aware that R12 manufacture is banned in many countries under the Montreal Protocol, and that other fluids can be used as an ozone-friendly substitute.

Gosh..? I believe they should be on the materials books and through the training duration I believe. Since technical schools do provide such data accross their training time or the proffessor should handle it for you without much trouble for them, I bet.

Easy does it now and a little remind R-12 are being phasing out due regulations which have to do within it's cloro component. Such cloro it found out may harm ozone atmosphere upthere and you know the story with this anyway to make it short now.
