All cranes are not EOT. EOT , I think stands for Electric Overhead Traction. It is basically a electrically operated hoist moving on rails on a high structure so that it can traverse with load.

Most cranes fall into this catagory; however, on our site we have two older cranes that have manual trolley and bridge motion

EOT as i understand is Electric Overhead Traveling.A full function crane will have minimum of three functions, cross travel , line travel and at least one hoist.Apart from these we have telphers i.e a mix of chain control and motor driven, semi gantry cranes and skips.

An overhead crane, commonly called a bridge crane, is a type of crane found in industrial environments. An overhead crane consists of parallel runways with a traveling bridge spanning the gap. This is most common type of overhead crane, found in most factories. As obvious from name, these cranes are electrically operated by a control pendant, radio/IR remote pendant or from an operator cabin attached with the crane itself.
