Does anyone have design information for an Eddy Current Tester that can be home built and use a laptop for recording? Application is testing of single strand Wireline wire, which ranges in diameter from .092 thru .140. Material can be plow steel, hi-tensile or various stainless based alloys such as 25-6MO, 27-7MO etc. We'd like to develop the ability to test real time while the wire is in use. Environment is oil and gas well downhole maintenance work.
Hope some one has some plans or any information that would help us hone in the building process.
Also welcome any thoughts about the potential or possible problems to be encountered with our proposed application.
