big sized high pressure tubing

06/20/2008 2:21 AM

Hi,

I would like to get in contact with a manufacturer of flexible high-pressure 'tubing' who is capable to manuf. diameters up to 500mm.

I'm looking at pressures of 30-40 bar, however the tube will be resitricted inside a (strong) metal shell.

Location preverably in Europe for ease of communication during developement.

Thank you, Tom

500mm Ø @ 40 Barg. That's some requirement!

True, but it can be done.

Think of tentpoles that exist in the form of inflatable tubes.

An industrial application is now in use on a 100 m long tent covering 2 high-way lanes. tubes (without steel shells!) are inflated up to 40 bar.

Unfortunately the tent owner does not want to disclose the name of the manufacturer.

Er, is that really 40Bar, or is it 40mBar?

Yes 30-40 bar, these tents withstand 12Bf.

40mbar would not be able to carry the weight of the heavy tarpaulin.

Unfortunately I cannot imagine what the (google) word for these inflatables could be.

I tried quite some possibilities.

Hi Tom.

You don't need to go a very long way to find a manufacturer for this kind of pipe. Get in contact with Nexans (Germany). This company is developing and producing flexibel (corrugated) pipelines in for the Oil and Gas Industry.

I don't know what length of "tubing" you are looking for, but I think that Nexans can produce flexibel pipelines of this diameter up till (at least) 60 meters. Ask Nexans.

http://www.nexans.com/eservice/Corporate-en/navigate_22415/Transfer_lines_for_liquefied_gas.html

I hope this link will guide you to useful information.

Kind Regards

Atle B.

He seems not too serious. he dont give any specification or quantity so far.

From the pic of the tent he post at top, the tube will be estimated at length of 30--36M. the road he showed is about 12--15M. This structure is used to insulate sound generally in our district. and it neednt so much higher pressure test. I dont know what function he wanted is.

Dear friends,

I'm not looking for steel, inox, nor corrogated pipes >> I'm looking for TUBING, braided rubber, or airtight polymers.

Something like the innertube of your car-tire but then capable of containing the required pressures of 40-50bar.

Did anyone think of steel bars in this 100 m long tent? with 12Bf wind on the side? love jokes!

rgds,
Tom
