Crikey!: RIP "The Crocodile Hunter"

09/05/2006 9:30 AM

Steve Irwin, "The Crocodile Hunter" was slain by a stingray yesterday off the north coast of Australia. Known for his "up close and personal" approach to wildlife, as well as his catchphrase "crikey", Irwin was a noted environmentalist and wildlife champion. He is survived by his wife and a son and daughter.

Steve Irwin - Rest in Peace

09/05/2006 10:05 AM

The world would miss a daring man who taught us that challenges could be conquered if fear is pulled out of us. Despite he died I believe his spirit of courage & determination to conquer still lives on. We miss you, steve

Steve was a great man, more human, more close to the nature. He was an example and a legend. He will be remembered all over the world.

Whem the world looses a great naturalist such as Steve, the world of wonder has had somthing removed from it. Steve might have been slightly MAD and a little crazy, but CRIKEY mates, we all were able to learn somthing from him in every show. STEVE YOU ARE GOING TO BE MISSED!!!!!!!

I sometimes wonder if we are the mad and crazy ones and Steve was the only sane person on the Planet. He was irrepressible. He was Steve Irwin.

I think that we are all a little mad in our own way, but Steve was the one who used it to the fullest of his abilities in every respect. He was the only person to be himself all of the time, and never allowed the world to change him. He is a very respected individual throughout the world of the naturalist, and will always remain a guide to all of us who lave and study animals.

Enjoyed Steve.

09/06/2006 10:03 PM

The few times I was able to catch Steve on the 'telly' I really enjoyed him and was impressed with how passionate he was about caring for all things in creation. I don't think I have ever seen another person who was living so close to the original charge that God gave to mankind.("Tend the garden, Adam.") Steve committed his life to understanding and caring for all of creation and trying to inspire others to do the same. God Bless You Steve. Hope you're looking at the Pearly Gates and saying " 'Av a go at this!"

If you want to keep Steve's memory alive, make a donation to Steve's Wildlife Fund :Wildlife Warriors. They waste no funds on catchy adverts all they do is to preserve wildlife and their habitat. Cheers. http://www.wildlifewarriors.org.au/
