Optical beam interruption?

weigh them after they have fallen for a set time?

what are the balls made of?

When you say 'micro' how small are they?

John.

Would take a lot of optics if the balls are really small and the area measured large.

True, but we are only guessing at what the OP is doing...

As per usual it seems the OP is a 'hit and run' questioner!!

While technically not a freefall, a flowmeter can weigh the product stream and only divert a short distance. A curved chute is suspended by a loadcell and measures the centripetal force required to accelerate the product horizontally.

One good meter is the CentriFlow® manufactured by Eastern Instruments.

OK I'll bite. What is a microball? Is it something used to play micro football?
