ETAP Power Station

07/19/2008 12:59 PM

Hello everybody

My question is for those who is familiar with ETAP Power Station (Ver. 4.0.0). I am trying to carry out the load flow calculation in ETAP Power Station 4.0.0. However this module fails to perform, permanently giving the following error messages:

Error 2000: Number of energized buses is less than two.

Error 2001: The system has no swing power grid or generators.

Error 2002: The system has no energized branches.

I tried even the simplest system (generator, cable, bus and load) but without any result.

Is it software error or is there anything to be changed in configuration and/or in parameters ?

Your help or suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Paata

You should first check if you really did it right (e.g. You have energized buses, swing power grid, etc). If nothing happens, contact the service/maintenance section of your ETAP supplier. They should be able to help.

There is nothing wrong with the software.I am familiar with the usage.

You have to properly configure and select the buses and source etc.

No energized busses implies that you have not configured the source of power properly. You must have at least one power source configured as a swing bus (loadflow calcs always need a swing bus to 'take up the slack'). Secondly there must be more than 2 buses for the loadflow to execute so add more system elements.

Thanks for comments

As per your recommendation I managed to decrease error messages to one: "Error 2002: [project1] The system has no energized branches" by applying swing mode for generators. Question: what parameter should I change in branches (e.g. cable) table to eliminate Error 2002 and carry out the load flow, since I tried to use more than two busses without any result.

Thanks in advance

Have you closed the breakers/switches for the power to flow?

Mr Ramvinod don't beat in the bush. I will suggest Mr Paata to first get familier with ETAP. Read manual, help files and sample models. Hope you will solve your problem. I have worked quite a no of projects on ETAP, the errors you are saying is nothing but your ignorance.

I would like to particularly thank you Mr. BNDas for your valuable help

Now I will know that there is "Help" capabilities in the software and manual as well.

Hi

I don't have problem with load flow any more. What I did was to add fiew more elements to the system and result was satisfactory. I hope there shouldn't be any problems with more complex systems.

Thanks for support

Try adding cable in-between DG & your MCC.

If you are using Etap version 4.0 these days, I'd say you were onto a pirate version.

No wonder you didnt call the supplier!

Amrul I suggest a transformer and a bus, with no load on it.
