Brazing material for Titanium alloys

07/25/2008 2:20 AM

I am looking for good brazing material for Titanium alloys. There are two different combinations. One is Ti-6-4 to Ti-6-4. The other one is Ti-6-4 to 15-3-3-3. Vacuum brazing will be performed in our product. Your reponse is appreciated.

Hi peter.ean,

I've just read this in our host Globalspec:

http://www.metalworker.com.au/articles/Brazing-titanium-to-eliminate-welding_z173201.htm.

You could find useful this link too:

http://www.welding-advisers.com/PRACTICAL_WELDING_LETTER-PracticalWeldingLetterNo46.html

It seems they use zirconium (quite similar behaviour to Ti) for brazing.

Cheers
