Would you take this Elk Hunting?

This Robot Rocks:

http://www.bostondynamics.com/content/sec.php?section=BigDog

A friend sent this to me this morning. A robot that is immediately useful to a wide range of people. It's just about as nimble as a Goat also. In the video where it recovers from a big kick to the side and the black ice were just very very nice tech.

I mean this is better than most stuff you see out rhere:

What do you think about it?

Wow, that is very cool. Unless it is a hoax.... I find it hard to believe pictures or videos of anything on the internet anymore.

But if it is real, then robotics has come a long way.

A new breed of the forgotten Army pack mule.

I see the military application but this has very exciting possibilities for getting handicapped people into the wilderness, or for search and rescue applications.

I like the way Neil Young says it: "It's better to burn out than to fade away"
