Starting speed or torque? Allen Bradley makes a small power flex VFD that will do anything you want, but if it is a soft start application, check into torque limiters and they may do what you need at a lower cost.

  1. Turn off Caps Lock
  2. Contact Allen Bradley or ABB (usual disclaimer).

You can install a suitable Fluid Coupling in between motor and fan. It will give smooth starting.

I'd recommend the Fuji Multi series, 10year life caps and fans etc.

ABB is much lower MTBF (more problems) and ALLEN BRADLEY is low cost chinese and lower life / quality etc.

Also the Fuji is compact so easy to fit somewhere, programme and wire.

Hello Zorandodo

I wanted to give you a little friendly advice that will help you in these forums. Using all caps is considered shouting and thought of as very rude. The people here are very friendly and helpful, but you will get a better response if you follow the etiquette rules of forum posts.

By using normal casing, caps at the beginning of sentences and lowercase after, your messages are easier to read and people will be more inclined to help you out.

Good Luck,

Doug

i have 2 VFD in my work shop all being fed from single phase 220V . These are driving 3 phase 2 HP lathe and 2 hp drill/milling machine. Beautiful control on all speeds and even reverst. I have a power flex , ABB, Baldor. I purchase 3 on ebay for under a $100. The baldor is 5 hp.
