Hello baseee:

I know and have UPS, which is basically a battery case with electronics added?

Not sure what you mean about the central battery system? Not heard of that. I might know it by a different name?

Can you explain in a little more detail about your first sentence on the Central backup system. And with you be joining this with the ups?

stay safe

Hi

Presumably you mean that your company is considering a central battery system for their UPSs.

The advantage for this is that the battery can be monitored and maintained in one central location. Said battery will be a better quality and have a longer lifespan than the individual batteries in individual units.

the disadvanage would be that you would need to run a DC distribution system throughout the office.

Main UPS systems normally deal with the whole thing centrally but that then is similar to just a central battery system in that a separate network should be run to avoid sockets carrying non critical loads from being connected to the stored energy of the UPS
