Bently Nevada 7200 proximity probe

08/06/2008 3:02 AM

Hi every body,

I appreciate if someone help me, we have compressor that has been monitoring with Bently Nevada 7200 Proximity Probe and it's dedicated monitoring system, but now we are going to do some modification. we want to use previous proximity sensor and connect them to a transducer that could supply standard 4-20ma for PLC but I couldn't find any Proximitor sensor with above spec. also we have chance to replace sensors with newer one (i.e. 3300 series 5mm).

any suggestion for me?

But I would think that getting 7200 series promimitors ( the other part which goes with the probe) would be a difficult task since the 7200 has been obsolete for a while now.If you consider keeping your 7200 system, I can supply you with lots of spare cards , proximiotrs, probes.

Your 7200 monitor do have a 4-20 mA output, it is labelled as REC for recorder output.Just get the manual and look it up.If you do not have a manual , let me know.

In the old days when the 7200 was introduced , electronics in industry was not a common as it is today.

So you would have had a multi-channel paper chart recorder recording vibration and axial shaft position and any other machine parameter.

I have retrofitted all our Bently Nevada 7200 vibration monitors with 3300 which is now on the margin of being obsolete and some 3500 which is the new current offering from Bently Nevada. In the 3500 series , the monitors are programmable so one monitor card can be used for proximity, seismic or accelerometer probes.

I am surprised that you were not able to find a general purpose proximity vibration monitor which do not output a 4-20mA output.

Do you have a list of the 7200 parts that you have, I am looking for two probes and two 25' cables for a no.1 bearing assembly.

I am trying to locate contact information from this user that has the Bently 7200 parts. Does anyone know how I would get in contact with this person.

Sensonics Ltd (UK) offers a good cost effective alternative to Bently Nevada. Senturion 8mm tip eddy current probes have a 4mm range compared to Bently Nevada's 2.5mm and there are a couple of options on the monitoring systems, the Sentry MO8604 rod-drop monitor (19" rack format) or the new DN8033 simple rod drop monitor that's a driver unit (proximitor) with direct 4-20mA output.
