How can we visualize the shape of an electromagnetic wave to be sinusoidal ?

It's the effect (current and voltage) on a conductor rotating through a magnetic field that is sinusoidal, not the magnetic field its self. I think this what you mean?

My earlier answer disappeared in cyberspace.

Look at a graph which depicts Voltage output, against shaft angular rotation, over a time period of greater than 1 rotation of that alternator shaft.
