RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR

HOW OVERALL EFFICIENCY OF A RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR CAN BE CALCULATED BY USING ONLY BORE, STROKE H.P DISCHARGE , AND MOTOR CAPACITY AND ACTUAL OUTPUT.

  1. Turn off Caps Lock to avoid waking the dead by SHOUTING.
  2. The shaft power required for any process fluid is the difference in enthalpy between the start conditions and the end conditions, times the flowrate, all expressed in compatible units.
  3. The efficiency is the shaft power requirement calculated from 2 divided by the electrical power input.
  4. If the efficienct is over 100% then there's something wrong with the calculation.
