You'll need to talk to your office IT Administrator regarding this matter, unfortunately. For security reasons, companies usually don't allow this to be done. However, if you are the sole proprietor or owner of the company, then you'll need to configure the network to recognize your home PC as a part of the network. Once you have done this, you'll need to set the folders where your files are located as shared folders. You may also need to provide a password for security reasons.

It goes without saying that the reason why I can tell you this is because if you have no authority to modify your network, then you'll have no choice but to approach your IT Administrator for help anyway, so I'm not posing a security risk to your company by doing so.

Only those with Administrator level privileges are able to do this.

Hello Guest,

The above information is quite correct.

Check it out with your System IT Administrator.

Kind Regards....

Yes, the answer you have is right.

I worked in an office and we used 'openvpn' and 'ssh' to set up connections from home to work and even used laptops on connections when traveling. The connection was quite secure. The 'ssh' (secure shell) slows down the date due to encrypting/decrypting things all the time, but that is the price you pay for security. Every thing we used was open source ( even rdesktop to remote desktop into users windows machines ), to both keep cost down and due to the owners zealous support of the open source efforts. We used this software with Linux, Windows, and Mac's.

There are the various vendors of remote access software, like gotomypc.com or webex.com that I am sure work. I am not a user of any of this software.

Let us know how/what you do.
