Transformer

08/20/2008 9:12 PM

Dear Sir; I have a over kill transformer that is a 112 KVA Delta to Wye 3-phase. I want to use this for a 100 amp breaker panel. This was a free-bee! Can I use a smaller wire for the primary 480 like a number 8 ga. and fuse this at 40 amp, and a number 2 wire for the 208 100amp panel? Even though I am only using 1/4 of this KVA would this be acceptable?

Thanks GARY

Hello Guest,

Pleaser refer: http://cr4.globalspec.com/thread/25639/Transformer

I have presumed that is the same transformer situation.

Advise here if it is a different situation.

Trust that assists you.

Kind Regards....
