Can we run two alternators of different KVa in paralle?

why not?

in power grid different verities of gen set with different capacity are in service

yes it can be done,..the load sharing has to be adjusted so as to each generator takes its share with respect to its size.

We can run generators with difference capacities in parallel provided your controls are perfect. The speed control and Voltage control ( Active & reactive power sharing ) should be proper ( governors, AVR). tuning may take some time compared to system with same capacities.

Yes but need to install a syncroniser to match the frequencies of the two and as long as the voltages are matching and load sharing is done properly you should not have any problems

Yes. The National Grid does just that.

yes we can.

to run two alternators parallel the sufficient conditions are-

1.frequency of two's should be same

2.the voltage of two alternators should be same(equals to the bus bar voltage)

3.the three phase sequence(R Y B) should be matched.

no matters what is the rating of two or more alternators coming in parallel.

The Answer is YES. We can run different capacity Generators/Alternators in Parallel. Many participants of CR 4 Members explained different details in this thread.

I want to supplement as ADDITIONAL DETAIL that:

The Voltage Droop Character of the In-Coming Alternator should match. If steep droop character - load sharing will be less. If shallow droop character -the load sharing will be more, possibly may be over-loaded. This has been explained in this Forum about 4 months back.

You can opt to use the "SEARCH THIS FORUM" See right side - 3rd from Top, and you can get more details.

Thanks.

surely, we can run the two or more alternators of different capacities in parallel after fulfiling pre requisite conditions i.e equal voltage, frequency, same phase sequence and synchronising equipment. after paralleling each generator will share the load according to its capacity by controling active and reactive powers.
