Energy Balance

I am trying to work out how much energy is actually consumed from my steam generation and offcourse then I'll have to work on my efficiency and fuel consumption.

please help me out.

ok I think I see what your looking for .

Try this!

BTU'S IN / BTU'S OUT

Take the BTU's of the material your using to generate steam then divide it by the amount of BTU's you are getting out of that process.

Some have high BTU's per ton and other lower with high sulphur which when burned turns to Microscpoic Mercury and ends up in streams.

After that you can subtract the amount of material used from what was gained to figure your waste.

You must consider if you using coal the Quality of it.

8,800 Btu/lbs.
0.50-0.75 lbs. SO2/mmBtu

This is low sulphur coal.

Some have high BTU's per ton and other lower with high sulphur which when burned turns to Microscpoic Mercury and ends up in streams. Pease do not consider adding trash like plastics to your engery source burning them releases too many TOXINS.
