Problems with CR4 server?

09/04/2008 11:18 AM

Are others having problems with spell checking, etc (receiving messages that you do not have permission to view certain pages, etc) on CR4. I am wondering if my computer is acting up, having recently installed new virus squelching software, or if the problem is at the server end.

We had an intermittent server issue this morning that is now cleared up. Let us know if you still have problems at cr4admin@globalspec.com

Thanks
- Mark

Today the spell checker worked on FF. When I try it on IE8 at work it implodes. Been doing it for months.

There have been some instances of certain CR4 features working in some browsers but not others. I heard about some problems with IE. (I use Chrome and it's okay except for the occasional line break formatting problem.)

We know about it and will try to fix it when resources are available.

More irritating than the spell checker is what happens now when you click the icon, insert picture or insert link buttons. The whole page freezes and you can't scroll to find the box, you have to go full screen. In the last week I've found if I start full screen, the box opens up "off screen". All this is in IE8.

I did post about the problem when the change was first made, but no-one heard me

This is quite extraordinary, Blink.

If you get that 'permission to view pages, etc' type thing, it's likely that whatever thread has been migrated to the 'offline archive'. I said extraordinary because the offline archive is a fairly new thing.

There have been quite a few changes since you posted this. One neat feature is various stats on most popular thread of the month (based on various criteria - posters, readers etc). Admin say they may, time allowing, add on such stuff as 'most popular of all times'. I'm looking foreward to that if it happens.

I think there was mention of creating a specific blog for those 'what is it' type questions, though I'm unsure if that has happened yet. I never could get the difference between forum/blog/thread . Good idea, it would keep the non-tech stuff in one place rather than archiving it.
