stack height calculation

09/04/2008 10:41 PM

How do i calculate the tack height, based on the SOx emission from stack?

When i say that the burner type in boiler is of dual fuel type then what does it means?

  • Burning the the two fuels independently in burner or
  • Burning the two fuel simultaneuosly in buner

The "dual fuel type" means burning the two types of fuels at the same time and through the same fuel burner.

Calculation of the Stack height on the basis of the SOx measurement at ground level is generally performed with a dispersion formula, which also generally requires knowledge of the areal wind flow pattern.

Dear editor,

You are completely wrong.......Dual fuel means the burner is capable of burning two separate types of fuel. In most cases in the US that would be oil natural gas.

There are very few areas that allow the attempt to burn two types of fuel in the same burner at the same time.

I have burnt #6 oil and fish oil directly from a fish processing plant but it was not easy.

Your stack answer is good but not your dual fuel answer sorry.

Mike

Refer to your comment, i belief that a dual fuel burner use to burn two types of fuel separately. for example one fuel at one time either gas (Natural gas) or fuel like (Furnace oil, diesel, etc)

Hello,

1. Burning alternate fuels in same burner is a true Duel Fuel system

Should second fuel burn simultaneously with the mother ( First Choice) Fuel, it could be deemed as Co-Fuel, supporting Mother Fuel based handicaps to be over come.

We have one such Patent namely, Steam Stove, which works with Mother Fuel "Kerosene" and is co-fuelled by Water, carefully delivered to same burner to increase Thermal efficiency of fuel, for clean cooking and reduce cook timing as well as cost of Mother Fuel for given task of cooking compared to single Fuel only.

Thus to answer your querry, you can define the Boiler second Fuel as COMPLEMENTRY or Alternate Fuel to choice Mother Fuel as discribed above.

2. Measuring Stack Height from Emmision......what is the Objective?

Do you get Heaps of Disposable waste which needs to be stacked for letting off GHG emissions? Are You concerned with Stack height since Heat development within may be dangerous etc...?

Pl. clarify your circumstances and specic need oriented querry, then answer could be found to meet your need.
