Hello, I am considering using a linear motor in a weld environment in an auto plant. Typically there is usually a film of small particles of weld spatter generated from the spot welding process. I figured that if I was to place the linear motor magnet track upside down under some solid floor steel in a pit (with a small opening for the transfer table to be attached through covered with a flexible material that will cover the opening unless the force of the transfer pushes it out of the way). I was also planning to have a cover around the sides of both the magnet track and the coil as much as possible in the pit, only slightly open on one side where I have to attach the coil to the moving transfer. Does anyone know of a linear motor working successfully in this kind of environment?
Thanks!
