	hallo pips, most of my vee belt pulleys/sheaves are worn out. Vee belts that are used a A series, B series, C series type. How can these pulleys be diffrentiated?? i want to get new pulleys. Do you have any idea how to differentiate?? or is it no necessary to differentiate?? Maybe, i'll have to measure all these pulleys and give dimensions to supplier to match up with what they have in stock? Need helpful assistance tips, links, sites and comments etc..here. 	Hi Hubertooru Differentiate by width of the groove. The groove may be slightly wider than the width of the belt. Belt sizes Class Equivalent Width Depth A 4L 0,5" 0.34" B 5L 0.62" 0.44" C 0.87" 0.55" You cannot replace a B by an A with the same number of grooves. The best would be if you google for V drives starting in tour country. Also note that the speed ratio is determined by the Pitch Diameter and not the OD or ID of the pulley. 	These graphs may or may not be of assistance to you, where you have the most suitable belts re rpm v kW. You also have the graph for wedge belts. As Hendrik said your A-D section belts relate to the widths of the belts. __________________ TO BE. or NOT TO BE. That is the question!! The Bard

	Dear hubertooru, Please ferer " MACHINERY HAND BOOK" you will get the most correct information. Do not change the series as given. it is reletd to cross section,as I remember. Thank you. V.D.DEODHAR.

	Hello hubertooru: hope you are well..................I know you are talking about V belts. 	They differ in top width and cross section. Get a Gates or other drive reference (often free from your local bearing house). Travis
