please tell me which material is suitable for centrifugal pump shaft if material which we are pumping is corrosive.
is it possible to weld broken shaft?
corrosive is a loose term..........316L SS as a guess.
No do not weld it, it can tear your pump apart.
Or something preciptation hardened, like a 17-4-ph, but it depends on what the corrosive material is.
what is this preciptation hardened- 17-4ph
we are pumping soap slurry
17-4ph is a precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel, please see links below:

What is the ph and temperature of your soap slurry?
its a pumpetravini make multistage pump.
most of the problem in brine, caustic and lye.
which is corrosive and having ph 10-14.
please advice me.
Please, specify the pump service ( pressure, temperature, fluid, etc. ) or copy a technical data sheet of the pump.
Not recommende to weld shafts especially under corrosive conditions the weld could suffer and be destroyed very quickly
