Line Spacing in a CR4 Discussion Post

10/03/2008 2:05 PM

Is there a way to increase line spacing in a post? The spacing defaults to a preset when I preview a post for editing.

Thanks!

return gives double spacing.

shift+return gives single spacing
Multiples of the above,

still seem to give double spacing, similarly multiple spaces get reduced to a single space which can be a right pain in the Aris'...

I am preparing to post a quiz but would ideally like a fair-sized gap between the questions and answers.

Maybe save a series of jpegs and paste (?)

Hello 1Degreeabove0

The default double spacing is used because that gives clarity for the readers, when the return key is used while posting.

Please remember that not all readers of your Post have the same size Monitor and Monitor settings as yourself.

This sometimes causes confusion when placing graphics.

In the absence of a "Special Instruction" the software places the graphic insert where your mouse cursor was, at the time of choosing that file to insert.

If you wish to include graphics, ensure that the cursor is at the start of a new line and choose the Graphic Alignment as Left, (A Special Instruction), which ensures the graphic then remains at the left-hand end of a line, in all viewing monitors.

If you find the graphic is not placed to your liking, Right Click on it, and a Menu pops up, then make your choice.

If you are unsure about Post graphics please refer: http://cr4.globalspec.com/thread/15743/How-to-insert-Graphics-into-your-Post-to-make-it-more-readable-or-interesting

Example: The graphic above had no "Special Instruction, and it remained inside the text where my cursor was at the time of placement.

The Great Idea graphic has Alignment: Left selected - The text flows around that graphic, until the depth of text in the viewing monitor passes the graphic, then the text reverts to normal.

The "Animated Leprachaun" graphic has Alignment: Right chosen, thus it has the Special Instruction to remain at the right hand side of the Post, and likewise, text then remains on the left of that graphic, as it continues downwards.

Once the text has passed the graphic, the text reverts to normal, without wrapping around anything.

There now, has that helped you?

A few more lines here....

Still more lines, to allow for very large monitors, just to show the wrap-around effect of the text around an Alignment: right selected picture or graphic.

As I said earlier, viewers monitors size and settings are different, you can only experiment, try your best, see how it looks.

Kind Regards....

Thank-you, gentlemen.

Before long, my posts should be works of art.

Try individual periods with line returns to add spaces between text lines.
