10/08/2008 4:57 AM

whlie reconcilliation of Structural steel in fabrication works and steel reinforcement works normally a wastage of 3 to 5% is considered a scrap. Kindly clarify me the following:

  • What is the allowable wastage?
  • What Percentgage of Wastage is Visible Scrap, Invisible Scrap, Rolling margin etc.?
  • Is there any BIS Code which addresses the issue of permissible wastage in steel Fabrication works?

Kindly respond !!

These questions are business-specific, and require local business information to answer them. Is there a company policy on wastage and scrap, for example?
