Wireless Biomedical Sensors

10/06/2006 6:32 PM

Hello,

Presently, my research field is wireless sensor networks. I would like to buy a wireless biomedical sensor which would detect the physiological behaviour of a person like blood pressure, heart rate,t emperature in the body and so on. Can you tell which companies are selling the wireless biosensors for health monitoring?

If that is your research field then you are supposed to do research and design one yourself. What do you get in buying a ready to use sensor and how does that contribute to your research? Do you have enough funds to buy the wireless snesors? It may be well above 2000 US$ to get those sensors.

Another idea, I heard, is introduced in Poland.

Blood presure etc. are measured then directly reported by / via wireless mobile-phone network to Medical Center.

You may buy in any pharmacy (e.g. CVS) an electronic blood presure or suger monitor and add converter for digital signal in Wi-Fi protocal. See e.g. Motorola catalogs.
