You are checking for insulation resistance(or lack of).--It varies depending on the voltage you have and what voltage your megger will test at(need to know it for any specific feedback), The size, length of the conductors, amount of copper in motors, temperature, moisture, etc will affect what you read and how long it will take to get it.
DON"T MEG SOFT STARTS, VFDs, SCRs.--It can damage them.
