Waterjet Control Program

10/22/2008 6:49 AM

We are trying to adapt BobCAD, an NC machining program, to control a waterjet cutting system. There are a series of subprograms that must be developed for piercing, going around radii, starting the flow of abrassive, turning on the intensifier etc. Has anyone ever tried this and been successful?

Help?!?!?

I drove a waterjet cutter using a Trio Motion multi-axis controller. Not much different to driving a pen-plotter. Don't think you should have too many problems. Just make sure you build it around a good hard-wired Safety system - waterjet cutters can be awesome!

Good luck.
