Storage is often on bunded installations so that if the primary container leaks, the secondary container will provide a way of buying time to capture and contain the material while the leaking container is repaired or replaced.

Many lubricants are combustible, so this needs to be taken into account in the location and design of facilities. Disposal by incineration is probably the easiest, especially if the heat released can be put to good use.

How about looking on the 'net for Material Safety Data Sheets for the lubricant in question, and contacting the suppliers of each one for best practice advice?
