Cable testing

After completing the testing(Insulation Resistance) on power cable (On Drum),is it required to be discharged?if so,what's the correct procedure?

just touch the wire to earth wire bonding

Depends on the quantity of cable in drum ,50 to 60 meters will hold charge for negligible time.

otherwise momentarily ground the ends.if neccessary.

when i was in cable production industry we never bothered to do that(even for 500 M cable drum) as by the time we transfer the cable to dispatch no charge was left.

Yes. Just short it to earth, just in case.

Do i have to connect 2 ends of each core to earth or only single end is enough to touch earth?
