Effect of Voltage Leakage

10/22/2008 3:53 PM

Hello all.

Please what is the effect of voltage leakage on an ATS panel or a Distribution board. How can it affect the performance of equipments connected to such ATS or DB?

Regards

Describe in detail what you mean by voltage leakage.

Also, it might be nice for the rest of us if you included the words so we know what "ATS" and "DB" are.

Hi all

ATS = Automatic Transfer Switch, Used to alternate the use of two or more power sources at a regular intervals or between a primary supply (usually public mains ) and a standby Diesel generators.

DB = Distribution Board (Consumer Unit)

By Voltage Leakage I mean having a residual voltage on Earthing cable ie the Earth - Neutral reading voltage value (While Testing with a Voltmeter)

Or

having electric shock by touching the bodies of such panels.

It will further assist if you also indicate what type of leakage ,ie on control circuit or power side and the voltage involved.

ATS=Automatic transfer panel?

DB= Distribution board?

ATS = Advanced Tyre Services.

DB = Deutsche Bundesbahn!

Never heard voltage leakage, do you mean voltage drop? or current leakage?
